"Every plant has a story . . . ."

R. rubiginosum

A large plant in the garden

This plant is descended from Chinese plants and grown here in Western Washington.  It’s hardy and could grow to 6 – 8 feet.

Flowers are purplish pink and the bush will cover itself in early spring.  Rubiginosum is vigorous and can grow in a variety of soils.

It can take sun and, as a good, tough plant, it can also form a nice screen if several plants are planted in a row.

This rhododendron will like:  Sun or Shade - Small amounts of fertilizer on Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day - Gentle watering - Well aerated soil with good drainage
