"Every plant has a story . . . . " R. diaprepes Flowers are large, fragrant and white! This is a vigerous, new introduction by Chimacum Woods, grown on the Olympic Peninsula, and expected to bloom easily. We found the forebears of this plant near the Burmese border in Yunan growing among firs, pines and other rhododendrons. Diaprepes, which means "distinguished", has received several Awards of Merit in the British Isles for its blooms. Filtered sun. Some shelter from afternoon heat and sun as well as from extreme cold. Small Amounts of fertilizer on Valentine's Day and Mothers Day. Well-aerated soil. We expect it to become a six-foot bush in about ten years.
