R. decorum

RSBG #75-268 (Permission by RSBG)

Rhododendron decorum is native to the border area between Western Yunnan (China) and Myanmar (Burma) and has been grown here in Western Washington.  We loved visiting its parents in the early 2000s.

Decorum can grow to a small tree in 10 years, and a large tree in 20.  Large, late-blooming white flowers are fragrant and delightful.

Decorum is a hardy “good do-er” which will provide you with gardening pleasure for years.

This rhododendron will like:  Both shade or sun (but don’t let it bake) - Small amounts of fertilizer on Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day -Light Watering - Well aerated soil
